Deyjhon Pettaway

Smooth athlete on the perimeter that displays very efficient feet out of his backpedal to close downhill on route concepts in front of him. Has primarily been asked to play Off Zone coverage at the high school level. Displays very good and quick hips in his transitions vertically as WRs approach, showing very good core mobility to get turned quickly and stay in phase through the transition. Willing tackler when coming downhill, showing very good closing burst to the ball carrier. Plays with very good range to stay with WRs on crossing concepts, displaying advanced feel for baiting QBs to throw on these concepts so he can undercut the route.

Pettaway played both CB and Safety as a Junior, where he showed to be an aggressive tackler closing downhill. He displayed impressive closing quickness to the ball with very good angle processing to put himself in a favorable position to make the tackle. Pettaway is one of the top DB prospects in the 2025 class.
