Scouting Reports

Scouting Report | Trevor Maki

1/13/2025

Sudden athlete with elite foot speed, foot quickness, burst, and acceleration that allow him to lineup at any WR alignment and give him the capability to score from anywhere on the field with the ball in his hands. Top tier vertical threat as an outside WR where his elite foot speed helps him take the top off of opposing defenses. Displays very good ball tracking ability, concentration, and body control at the catch point that allow him to bring in receptions over his shoulder with ease as well as bring in receptions on the move working over the middle of the field/in the short and intermediate areas without breaking stride. Very good hand strength to pluck the ball away from his frame.

James' elite foot quickness make him incredibly difficult for pressed CBs to get their hands on on jams and if they miss on their initial punch they are immediately out of position. James is an incredibly high-level WR prospect that displays the upside to contribute incredibly early, if not immediately, in his college career.
