Very good COD and route stem manipulation allow Fitzgerald to create separation at the route break point, where he shows good burst and acceleration out of the break to drive away from defenders. Displays very good processing quickness and recognition of open areas in Zone coverage with a good feel for sitting down and presenting a target for his QB.

Fitzgerald's combination of route running ability and football instincts as a route runner will allow him to play both from inside and outside WR alignments moving forward. He displays good hand strength with nice extension to pluck balls away from his frame along with good concentration and ball tracking skills to the catch point.
