Jonte Newman

Ascending, physically imposing OT prospect that displays very good movement ability in his pass sets as well as in run blocking. Shows good strength through his upper body to latch on and sustain defenders in pass protection, showing a well-developed snatch-trap move that he times well to put defenders on the ground. Shows good set quickness on Jump and 45 Degree pass sets with good anchor strength to stall out defender rush attempts. 

In the run game, Newman displays impressive lateral movement quickness as a puller/on trap blocks, showing above average location and tempo control to engage defenders here. Good lower body strength and solid pad level allows him to generate movement on Gap/Power concepts. 

At the next level, Newman projects best to an Outside Zone run scheme that allows him to play on the move and engage defenders in space with a balanced passing attack. Newman shows the technique, strength, and quickness to be left on an island in pass protection.
