X/Z WR that plays bigger than his listed size on the outside of offensive formations due to impressive play strength at the catch point and very good length through his arms. Displays good ball tracking ability with good concentration to the catch point. Above average route runner that utilizes his good COD and burst out of the break on COD routes. Shows very good foot speed and acceleration to stretch defenses vertically. 

Generates good YAC due to very good contact balance and good lower body strength to play through contact. Upshaw shows the cominbation of athletic ability and savvy route running ability that, when combined with his upper body/hand strength and extenstion, gives him the ability to make tough contested catches. While he has played both X and Z WR at the HS level, his size best fits as a Z/Slot WR where he has space to release off the LOS against Division 1 defensive back talent.
