Good route runner with good COD and a nice feel for attacking the leverage of defensive backs to get them to flip their hips before he hits the route breakpoint. Displays very good ball tracking ability and concentration to the catch point and to bring in receptions over his shoulder. 

Smith is at his best right now on smooth route concepts that allow him to use his speed and quickness to his advantage by running away from defensive backs. With continued development of his route tree to add in high COD routes, Smith shows incredible upside to become a top-tier receiver at the college level.
